SUMMARY:Ground Defences Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The recent development of strong ground fighting systems such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA are having a massive impact. UFC has glorified tactics that ultimately leave you dangerously vulnerable to weapons and multiple attacks.\n\nSize and strength really does matter if you choose to play this game. Police agencies recently noted that officers were experiencing high rates of permanent physical injury as a direct result of offenders training in Mixed Martial Arts and other ground fighting systems that focus on arm breaks\, neck manipulation and shoulder/leg cranks.\n\nIn Krav Maga we train in defensive tactics on the ground\, but in respect of other peoples ability\, it is the last place we want to stay. This workshop is a crash course on the principles you need to escape and get up quickly when faced with likely grappling situations.\n\nImportantly we will also explore the application of various attacks you are likely to experience while fighting on the ground and you will also have the opportunity to test your skills in a variety of simulations and drills.\n\n\nTopics include: \n\nBasic principles and approach\nTaking an opponent down and take-down prevention\nHow to break a fall\nDefending against head-stomps and kicks while on the ground\nDefending against different chokes and headlocks on the ground\nBasic BJJ submissions\nDealing with multiple attackers on the ground\nScenarios and simulations

SUMMARY:Takedowns Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Military and law enforcement operators need a uniquely different way to finish a fight/altercation compared to civilians. They don’t have the luxury of being able to leave the environment immediately as their role requires a need to capture or incapacitate.\n\nThis workshop explores the devastating takedowns of the Krav Maga system in a contextualised and scenario based way. Active shooters\, threats of explosive devices\, detaining violent offenders or softer approaches to mentally ill persons all require a way to control and decentralise a person for the safety of themselves\, the Operator or the community.\n\nLearn how to employ various takedowns when faced with difficult or life threatening situations that you just can’t run away from.  We will apply these techniques in close range combat\, as counters to certain attacks\, and as part of the finishing mode of some of our basic Krav Maga defences.
